I've been listening to what neighbors in the 49th ward want and need. While not a exhaustive list, these are the issues that have come up the most for the majority of our residents and that will be at the top of my list.
Strong Neighborhood Schools
Our kids deserve fully funded public schools. Our families deserve a leader that will work with them to make that happen.
Accessible and Affordable Housing
We need housing that's accessible for seniors and persons with disabilities as well as affordable for individuals and families to preserve the character of Rogers Park.
Safe and Healthy Community
A safe community is one where residents with the most needs have those needs met. We'll work to prevent crime by addressing root causes of violence and poverty.
Sustainable Local Economy
Local businesses are a vital part of what makes Rogers Park special. We need to provide them with the support and resources they need to thrive and grow.
We must maintain our precious public lands and green spaces. The protection of our environment is our responsibility and key to the health of our community.
Democracy thrives with accountability, transparency, and pipelines for leadership development. From participatory budgeting, to community assemblies and ward councils, we will build a stronger, more democratic ward.
